There is no denying the auto industry has taken some hits over the last few years and reality television hasn’t always helped improve the perception of auto retailers either. Today auto sales are up, the quality of vehicles being produced is the best we have ever seen, and continuing to improve all the time. This means the timing is perfect for an automotive themed television show that highlights all the great things happening in our industry and how today’s vehicles are helping move us safely into the future.
This new show entitled, “Carfolks” (https://carfolks.tv ) explores virtually every aspect of cars, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicular related activities. The show is in the pre-production stage but has a NASCAR driver and team owner and an up and coming Hollywood actor as the co-hosts of the show.
Carfolks co-host Jennifer Jo Cobb (https://carfolks.tv/jennifer-jo-cobb ) began racing in 1991 and has proven to be a tough competitor in the world of auto racing. She has numerous victories under her belt and finished in the top ten championship standings for every season she competed in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Lakeside and I-70 Speedways in the Kansas City area. As female in a male dominated sport Jennifer knows firsthand how intimidating the automobile world can be for women. On the weekly Carfolks show see will bring to the forefront topics that women find of interest when buying, owning and maintaining vehicles. This will include segments filmed across the country featuring women from all walks of life where they share their stories, insights and sometime frustrations about the cars they drive and the process of buying a vehicle.
Jennifer Jo’s partner on the show will be Linc Hand, (https://carfolks.tv/linc-hand/) an actor whose rising star is quickly rising in Hollywood. Linc recently had a pivotal supporting role in the movie “42” about Jackie Robinson and has appeared in numerous prime time television shows including Justified, 90210, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Prime Suspect and True Blood. Raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Linc developed a love of the outdoors, fast cars and motorcycles which makes him a perfect host for the Carfolks television show.
Another auto industry professional featured on the show is Charlie Vogelheim. Many know Charlie from his days at J.D. Power and Associates where he hosted and organized the International Internet Round Table events and prior to that served as an executive editor at Kelley Blue Book. He is also the Emcee at the Driving Sales Executive Summit held each fall and continues to provide consulting advice to manufacturers and other trade associations. Charlie will be introducing viewers to new cars and trucks but these vignettes will be anything but your typical vehicle reviews. Charlie and the Carfolks team will be engaging consumers from around the country to join them on extended test drives to get their thoughts and insights for a real-world perspective. Additionally Charlie will be interviewing industry executives from the manufacturing, automotive advertising, and social media worlds to take a peek inside initiatives that drive auto retailing and marketing.
Segments of Carfolks provides a good mix for men, women and teens and in addition to highlighting new technology in vehicles, local auto dealers will be featured showcasing unique things they are doing in their dealerships to keep customers engaged and to show the impact of their efforts in the community to improve the spirit of the neighborhood and provide needed resources and funds for worthwhile initiatives.
Mark Dubis, president of Carfolks Media Group indicated that discussions regarding syndication of the show are still active and they hope to announce shortly which markets and stations will be airing the weekly show. Mark said, “Once plans are finalized with the production company we will be moving quickly with producers to schedule shooting segments and planning the TV show schedule and extended segments that will air on the Carfolks.com video channel.” He continued, “Our engagement marketing opportunities for manufacturers and local auto retailers on digital, social, and traditional channels creates a comprehensive and integrated package not currently available in the market.”
